Helping Jackie and Jade is Uncle, a cantankerous but wise antiquities expert. Though officially Jackie works as an archaeologist, in reality he also assists Captain Black, leader of the covert police squad Section Jackie discovers that each of the 12 talismans has unique mystical powers that are bestowed upon its holder.
On their journeys around the world, Jackie and Jade have many adventures as they rely on Jackie’s mental and physical martial arts skills and ability to turn anything into a defensive weapon. And although Jackie counts on his expertise and wit, he also has access to high-tech gadgetry and vehicles through Section Escaping his Section 13 prison cell, Drago, the teenage son of the Fire Demon Shendu, sets out in search of the seven immortal relics in order to absorb their latent Demon Chi powers and transform him into the ultimate bad guy.
Enlisting the Enforcers, Drago turns them into green, scaly, fire-empowered accomplices. But just as his evil posse locate the immortal fan an ancient relic containing traces of the Wind Demon Chi , Jackie Chan and company arrive. Unbeknownst to anyone, during the ensuing bedlam, Jade absorbs the Demon Chi power of wind from the immortal fan, causing her body to begin taking on characteristics of the Wind Demon.
In a fight at Jade’s school, “Bullfrog Jade” uses her wind power to help Jackie stop Drago and the Enforcers from stealing back the Demon Chi, enabling Uncle to use a removal spell to drain the Wind Demon Chi from Jade and store it for safekeeping. Unfortunately for Jackie and his crew, Drago escapes and sets out to find the other six immortal relics.
When the immortal relic gourd carrying Water Demon Chi turns up as the amnesty idol on an international game show, Jackie, Jade, Uncle and Tohru must become contestants in order to win it back before Drago can get his hands on it. As Jackie and his team absorb the Chi, Jade is ready to celebrate her big day when a second power – the Moon Demon Chi – unexpectedly appears in the city zoo where a panda bear absorbs the energy and leads everyone on a chase that ends with a Chi-powered Drago facing off against a Chi-powered Jackie!
After joining the Dragon Scouts, Jade becomes increasingly suspicious of her fellow scouts –Frank, Charley and Rocko — who also happen to be the Enforcers’ nephews. Meanwhile, Jackie suspects the grown up Enforcers, who have just been released from prison to perform “community service,” are planning to steal a precious antiquity. While on a class field trip to a “haunted house” tourist trap known as the Windsor Mansion, Jade’s prim and proper teacher, Ms.
Hardman, accidentally absorbs the Sky Demon Chi, giving her the power of flight. Complicating matters even further, Drago shows up to stake his claim to the Demon Chi, and his presence combined with that of the new “Sky Demon Hardman” awakens strange spirit forces within the mansion. On a trip to his boyhood village in China, which is about to be submerged by the construction of a new dam, Uncle, Jackie, Jade and Tohru are possessed by evil mirror spirits that transform them into the things they fear worst about themselves.
After an earthquake damages the Chi Containment Unit and frees the Earth Demon Chi, Larry, a mild-mannered comic book fan and friend of Jade’s, unwittingly absorbs the Chi and believes he’s gained superpowers. Adopting the persona of “Spectacu-Larry,” he performs good deeds throughout the city as Jackie, Jade, Uncle, and Tohru race to remove the Chi from him before Drago does — and before it turns Larry into a demon-forever.
Jackie and his team learn that the Immortal Castanets — relics that hold the evil Thunder Chi — were stranded deep in arctic waters following the sinking of a Titanic-like ship many years ago. Facing a host of aquatic dangers, Team Jackie uses mini-subs and scuba gear as they square off against Drago’s minions over the Castanets — a battle that Drago wins, giving him the Thunder Chi power. Armed with his newly acquired Thunder Chi powers, Drago heads for Seattle to harness the bad weather and build a more fitting “lair” filled with X-treme sports gear, a roller coaster and a hot tub.
Following Drago to his new home, Jackie and his friends discover that the hideout is in Seattle’s famous Space Needle, where Jade goes head to head with Strikemaster Ice. When Tohru accidentally ingests the Mountain Demon Chi that’s been left behind on an ancient pair of chopsticks, he becomes a monster.
Devouring everything in sight, Tohru engages in a demon battle royale that winds up stripping Drago of his own Fire Demon Chi powers. Jackie and his gang locate one half of the Arcanum of Chi after it’s been stolen by a mystery thief. Following him into the future, Jade meets her less adventurous future self and together they work to recover both halves of the Arcanum. Giving Jade an ultimatum, he then threatens to harm his hostages unless the Chi powers are turned over to him.
Though Tohru creates a potion to stop Drago, one that requires Jade to get a piece of Shendu’s stone prison to complete it, everything goes wrong when it doesn’t work. So, leaving everyone to die on a collapsing bridge, Drago sets off to unleash all of the underworld’s demons across the planet. To be continued.
